Make Google Chrome Download Faster
Google Chrome is an Internet browser that functions on both Windows- and Mac-based computer systems. The program is an alternative to Internet Explorer, Safari or even Firefox.
If you are using Google Chrome and find the download are lagging, you need to perform a few troubleshooting techniques to correct problems and increase the overall download speed.
Instructions
- Download the latest version of Google Chrome. If you are running a previous version you are not going to receive the top download speeds. Navigate to the Google Chrome website and click the download link.
- Download one document at a time. Downloading multiple files at once is going to slow down your overall download speed.
- Close out any bitTorrent services you are using. These services drain your Internet connection, preventing most other downloads from performing at an adequate speed.
- Exit out of Google Chrome, then restart it. The software may have loaded incorrectly, in which case restarting the program corrects the issue.
- Run an anti-virus scan on your computer. Once the scan has finished, delete any discovered viruses the software detects. If you don't have an anti-virus software installed, you are able to download several free programs from internet.
