USB to Ethernet Adapter
USB to Ethernet adapters are designed to quickly allow networking on a computer without an Ethernet port. The adapter converts a standard USB port on your computer into an Ethernet port, which allows communication at the USB 2.0's speed of 480 Mbps.
Windows 7 recognizes most USB to Ethernet adapters and automatically installs all required drivers, so you do not need to install any software yourself.
This article will help you use USB to Ethernet Adapter.

Access Wireless Router Settings
Routers are physical devices that join multiple wired or wireless networks together. Although it seems technically challenging to adjust your router settings, it is actually very simple to do and can be done in just a few minutes.
Accessing your wireless router's settings allows you to make changes to your wireless network's configuration. It can also help you to secure your network better.
Instructions
1. Connect your computer to the wireless router. Although you can access the router wireless, it is better to use an Ethernet cable to directly connect to your router so that you can securely adjust router settings.
2. Plug the ethernet cable into the appropriate ethernet jack on your computer. Plug the other end of the cable into any one of the open ethernet ports on the back of your wireless router.
3. Open your computer's web browser. In the URL address field, enter the IP address for your wireless router. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.
4. Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual.
5. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers.
6. You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as wireless network name and passwords.
Tips and Warnings!

Lock a Wireless Router
Todays wireless routers come from the factory unsecured. Many times they are hooked up never securing the wireless network.
This allows anyone in range to use your internet and possibly search through your home network at their discretion. In this article I will go through the steps of securing your wireless router.
Instructions
1) All wireless routers are different. In this article I will try and cover the most common ways to set up your wireless security. Most manufacturers provide instructions on how this is done with there specific router. If the original manual is lost, information can usually be downloaded from the manufactures web site. This article assumes that the router is installed and providing internet to you. The first step in setting up your wireless security is to access your routers settings page.
This can be done from your computers browser. Note that often times it is best to not be connected through your wireless connection but rather through a direst cable connection with your router. To do this simply take a cat5 cable (usually supplied with your router) and connect it directly from your computer to an open port on your router. You can see from the image that there are several ports labeled with yellow and one labeled with blue.
The blue denotes the port where the internet feed (from your cable modem or DSL modem) plugs in. The yellow ports indicate where directly connected computers are to be connected. There may be now color or labels on your router but generally it is set up the same. Hook your computer to the yellow ports.

2) Be sure that your computer is connected and has internet. The next step is to enter your routers set-up page. You can get to your routers set up page through your internet browser by entering its address in the address bar. So what my router address? Your routers address depends on the manufacture. But typically with be like this 192.168.1.1 . Depending on your manufacturer the last two digits will change.
This is where your manual will be helpful. If you do not have your manual, Google the brand and model of your router and you should find the address with your manufactures info. You may also find the address by going into your network connection in windows. Simply right click your internet connection in your network connection window and click status. Then click the support tab. The address for your router will be the numbers after default gateway.
3) When you have entered your routers address in the address bar hit enter. Your browser will either take you to the main setup page for your router or ask you for a login and password. If you are asked for a login and password again refer to your manufacturers manual or web site. Generally its some combination of "admin" for login and password or "admin" for login and no password. Sometimes even "password" for the password.

4) Now your at your routers setup screen it should look somewhat like this.
5) Now find your wireless security tab. Every router is different, it may take some clicking around to find it.
6) Once you found your wireless security settings you will notice that they are disabled. You should have several options when it comes to the type of security that you can choose. I prefer WPA, it allows you to simply enter a password to access your wireless network. This password can of course be saved in your wireless settings so there is no need to enter it but one time.
7) Simply enter your password in the password box and hit save. Your wireless network is now secure. Distribute the password to anyone that is allowed access to your wireless network.

How to Send a Fax Over the Internet

With the advent of the Internet has come technology that has made it possible to send and receive faxes over the Internet. This has also resulted in a number of providers who offer this service either free or for a fee.
Instuctions
- Sign up for an email fax service such as MyFax, FaxPipe, eFax or TrustFax. These services allow you to send your fax through the Internet and email. This type of fax service provider will integrate with your existing email system and does not require any new software or hardware installation.
Most email fax services enable you to send faxes in up to 45 document formats. To receive faxes from this service, you can choose to receive them in PDF or TIFF formats, or view them online. - Select an Internet fax service that lets you send faxes from your desktop, such as ClickFax, RingCentral and Fax1. Rather than send or receive faxes through email or a website, you will install and use an application on a PC.
Although this PC must be connected to the Internet, a fax modem is not necessary. This type of service will typically be integrated with your Windows applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Access, QuickBooks and Exchange. - The fax is sent through one of your favorite applications, enabling you to send formatted, graphic faxes directly from the application. The faxes that you receive, however, are in the form of an email.
- Set up your iPhone to send faxes through email. You can use Internet fax services such as eFax to send and receive faxes from your iPhone. Once you sign up for the service, you will be able to fax through email. To do this, create the text on your iPhone that you want to fax over the Internet. Save the text and then send it by email by keying in the fax number. You can also receive faxes on your iPhone in the form of PDFs that you can print out.

Create a New Protocol in QoS
QoS, or Quality of Service, is a protocol used to provide a high level of audio or video reception. This service is meant to provide a near flawless delivery of signals so the person at the receiving end will not have delivery breakdowns, interference or dropped calls.
The traditional delivery method was "best-effort" such as email or data downloads. However, with new communication technologies offering new delivery features, "best effort" was not good enough. The predictability and guarantee delivery of a signal is important.

How to reset opera back to factory default setting
Many problems related to opera settings are solved by "profile reset" method. But some users find it difficult to do this. To help in that, I have summarized some tips to do profile reset in a smart way so that you will never be afraid of doing it at anytime.
What is profile reset?Profile reset removes all your preference settings (like the options you choose in tools>preferences, custom toolbars, menu etc) and let opera rebuild it to the factory default condition automatically. The great advantage it brings that it destroys bad settings that you might have done or might have accumulated with multiple upgrade etc. This is very likely to resolve many issues users encountered with opera user settings.
What should do before profile reset?
You need to backup your files so that you can get back your data.
How to do the profile reset?
Close opera. You need to locate your profile directory (Help>about opera will show you the exact location). In windows xp, it is commonly at c:\documents&settings>username>application data>opera>opera>profile and in win vista its under in Windows Vista C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Opera. Note that "Application data" is a hidden folder in windows and you need to enable the opton to view hidden files and folders(open my computer>tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders).
Once you have found the folder, just find and delete the file opera6.ini(configuration settings). Restart opera and opera will rebuild the profile settings.
