How to Manage Passwords With Safari?

When logging onto a Web site that requires a user name and password, Safari will ask if you want it to save that information for future use. If you choose to save the password, Safari will save that information and automatically access it every time you want to log onto that site. 

 

Having Safari remember your passwords can be a great time saving tool and save you the hassle of having to remember your log in information. This is especially true if you have different passwords for different sites. Safari also gives you the ability to manage those passwords as you see fit.

Instructions

1. Set Your Passwords Preferences
2. Open up your Safari Web browser and choose 'Preferences' from the Safari pull down menu.
3. Click on the heading 'AutoFill.'
4. Click on the box next to 'User Names and Passwords.'
5. Close the 'Preferences' window.

Save Your Passwords

1. Go to a Web page that requires a password and enter in your chosen password. Safari will then ask if you would like to save this password.
2. Click on the button 'Yes' in order to save the password.
3. Complete steps 1 and 2 for any other passwords that you want Safari to remember.

Manage Your Passwords

1. Go to the 'AutoFill' section in the Safari Preferences window.
2. Click on the 'Edit' button to the right of where it says 'User Names and Passwords.' This will bring up a window displaying all of the passwords and usernames that you have authorized Safari to save.
3. Click on a password listing and push the 'Remove' button in order to delete the password from Safari's memory.
4. Choose 'Remove All' in order to delete all of the saved passwords.
