Sounds, Pictures or Video on Web Pages.



You can speed up your browsing capability by turning off the sound and the images that are slowing you down. 

Turning off sound can also be helpful when you're at work and surfing on the sly. These instructions work for all browsers you use in Windows.
 
Instructions
  1. Click Start on your desktop.
     
  2. Go to Settings.
     
  3. Click Control Panel.
     
  4. Double-click on Internet Options.
     
  5. Select the Advanced tab.
     
  6.  Scroll down to Multimedia.
     
  7. Deselect the check marks in the boxes next to Play Sounds, Play Videos and Show Pictures.
     
  8. Click OK.
The sounds, pictures or video on web pages will be turned off now.

Tips and Warnings
  • If you're browsing with Netscape Navigator, you can view the pictures on a Web page even if they're turned off; simply click the Image icon on the toolbar.
     
  • On a Macintosh, open a browser and look for menus or commands such as Preferences, Internet Options, or Settings, and check for advanced or multimedia options.
