Configure Local LAN Ethernet Address
Computers and other network devices normally use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to acquire IP addresses. The computer asks its network gateway, normally the router or Internet service provider, for an IP address and other network information. This ensures no two computers are assigned the same IP address.
If you need to connect to a network device that doesn't support DHCP or just want to assign your computer a static IP address, you can also configure your local area network Ethernet adapter with a custom IP address.
This article will help you to configure local LAN Ethernet address.

USB to Ethernet Adapter
USB to Ethernet adapters are designed to quickly allow networking on a computer without an Ethernet port. The adapter converts a standard USB port on your computer into an Ethernet port, which allows communication at the USB 2.0's speed of 480 Mbps.
Windows 7 recognizes most USB to Ethernet adapters and automatically installs all required drivers, so you do not need to install any software yourself.
This article will help you use USB to Ethernet Adapter.

Access Wireless Router Settings
Routers are physical devices that join multiple wired or wireless networks together. Although it seems technically challenging to adjust your router settings, it is actually very simple to do and can be done in just a few minutes.
Accessing your wireless router's settings allows you to make changes to your wireless network's configuration. It can also help you to secure your network better.
Instructions
1. Connect your computer to the wireless router. Although you can access the router wireless, it is better to use an Ethernet cable to directly connect to your router so that you can securely adjust router settings.
2. Plug the ethernet cable into the appropriate ethernet jack on your computer. Plug the other end of the cable into any one of the open ethernet ports on the back of your wireless router.
3. Open your computer's web browser. In the URL address field, enter the IP address for your wireless router. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.
4. Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual.
5. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers.
6. You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as wireless network name and passwords.
