Recover Passwords in Chrome
ChromePass is a password-management application that displays usernames and corresponding passwords that have been stored by Chrome. The interface is very simple, and allows you to see all of your stored information, as well as corresponding web addresses.
This application is best used for backup purposes, because it allows you to save your password records into different formats (text/html/xml), so you will still have them if your computer or Chrome crash.
This article will help you to use ChromePass effectively.
Instructions
- Go to the ChromePass website and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the download link under the "Feedback" heading.
- When the download screen pops up, click "Save as" and download the .zip file directly to the desktop. Once the file has downloaded, right-click the folder and select "Extract all files."
- When the ChromePass icon appears on the desktop, double-click it and select "Run" from the window that pops up.
- Watch for a list of all of your stored usernames and your password to pop up in the ChromePass application window. You can copy or export the information you need using the File menu at the top of the window.
- Once you are finished, simply close the window and delete the file on your desktop. Since ChromePass is an application and not a program, you do not have to worry about uninstalling it.
