How to Increase Bandwidth on LAN Network



Increasing the amount of available and utilized bandwidth on your LAN network will enable you to transfer and share files with greater speed, improving your efficiency. This is accomplished by modifying the network settings in your operating system through the registry, which is the location containing important information about your operating system and the software contained there.
Instructions


  1. Click "Start" type "regedit" in the "Search" box. Press "Enter."
  2. Move through the folders in the following order: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," "System," "CurrentControlSet," "Services," "LanmanWorkstation" and "Parameters."
  3. Right click "MaxCmds" and select "Modify." Enter a value of "64."
  4. Right click "MaxThreads" and select "Modify." Enter a value of "64."
  5. Restart your computer to apply changes.
