IE Passwords in the Address Bar

Older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer allowed users to include log-in name and password information in the address bar. Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 and newer versions of Internet Explorer have disabled this feature. The feature was disabled due to the potential for malicious users to exploit a loophole that can trick unwitting victims into thinking that they are accessing a different website than they are actually viewing. 

If you want to change Internet Explorer's settings to allow passwords in the address bar, then you will need to enter the Windows Registry and manually change your Internet Explorer settings.Instructions

1. Close all open Microsoft Internet Explorer windows.
    
2. Click "Start" and click "Run" to open a run command box. Type "regedit" in the run box and press "Enter" to open the Windows Registry Editor. Click "Continue" to authorize the program to start.
    
3. Navigate to the following registry key using the registry browser pane at the far left of the program window:
    
4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD
    
5. Left-click the registry key in Step 3 to display associated registry values in the right window pane.
    
6. Right-click the right window pane and choose "New => DWORD (32-bit) Value." Name the new value "iexplore.exe."
    
7. Right-click the iexplore.exe DWORD value and click "Modify" to open the DWORD edit window.
    
8. Change the "Value Data" field to 0. Click "OK" to save your change.
    
9. Close the Windows Registry Editor. Internet Explorer is now set to accept log-in names and passwords in the address bar.
