Clear the Toolbar on Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer, like many Web browsing programs, has a customizable toolbar section where you can add various search boxes to speed up your queries. The program also stores your searches in an effort to help you backtrack in case you want to view recent searches again. For those who want to keep their searches under wraps, Internet Explorer includes the option to clear toolbar queries, which can come in handy if you want to avoid having other people stumble upon your private browsing sessions.

Instructions

1. Start Internet Explorer.
    
2. Click the "Safety" drop-down menu, located near the top-right of the program's window. A menu appears below the button.
    
3. Open the "Delete Browsing History" window from the "Safety" menu. You can also press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Delete" to open the window quickly. A new window opens.
    
4. Select the "History" and "Form data" check boxes from the "Delete Browsing History" window. This clears both your search history and data you have entered into forms.
    
5. Click "Delete" to finish clearing the toolbar.
