Transfer Domain Name Servers
Website owners have many options when it comes to the essential services for registering domain names and hosting their websites. You may choose a separate host from your registrar and, to connect the services, must enter domain name server= addresses that correspond to your hosting in your control panel of your domain name registrar.
Popular registrars such as GoDaddy, Network Solutions or Namecheap allow you to name servers when first setting up your domain or whenever you switch to a different host and must transfer your domain name servers.
This article will help you to transfer domain name servers.
Instructions
GoDaddy
- Log into your GoDaddy account.
- Click "Advanced Details" next to the domain for which you wish to transfer DNS servers.
- Click the Nameservers button and choose "Set Nameservers."Check the radio field next to "I have specific nameservers for my domains" and type at least two different DNS server address into the fields.
- Click "Ok."
Namecheap
- Enter your username and password to log into your Namecheap account.
- Click "View" next to the number of domains in your account.
- Click on the domain for which you wish to change servers and then click "Transfer DNS to Webhost" on the left sidebar.
- Type your nameservers into the boxes provider and click "Save Changes.
Network Solutions
- Log into your account from the Network Solutions main page.
- Click on the domain you wish to edit under the "My Domains" section.
- Click "Edit" in the "Domain Currently Points to" section.
- Click the "Move DNS" button after confirming the warning.
- Type your nameserver into the provided boxes and click "Continue."
