Connect a PS3 toWireless Internet
If you have a Playstation 3 with the wireless LAN feature, you can connect it to your wireless Internet connection. Internet connection settings will vary by the network, but if you have a typical network setup, you should be able to connect your PS3 to the Internet by using this process.
Introduction
- Make sure your wireless Internet connection is active and at full strength. Unplug the PS3's Ethernet cable if it is plugged into the system.
- Turn on the Playstation 3 game console and select "Network Settings" under the "Settings" option in the main menu.
- Select the "Internet Connection Settings" tab and select "Yes" when the system displays a new screen saying you will be disconnected from the Internet.
- Select "Easy" on the next screen that asks what type of installation you want to use.
- Select "Wireless" when it asks you what type of Internet connection you have.
- Select "Scan" on the next screen.The system will search for all available Internet connections in the area.
- Select your home Internet connection when the screen pops up displaying the available Internet options. Select your security settings and enter your encryption key. Save your settings.
- Test the connection by selecting the "Test Connection" option. If the connection has been made, your network information will appear on the screen.
