Repair Firefox Hangs
Occasionally the Firefox Web browser can experience an error and hang. You notice a page is stuck in loading, the browser stops responding to your input and basically the whole program just freezes up. Though it's an irritation, fixing the problem is rather simple. Like many other computer issues, you can resolve it by restarting the application. "What a simple fix," you may think as you click the "Firefox" menu, expecting to click "Exit." That won't work; the program is frozen. You have to kill the process through the Task Manager and then restart Firefox.
This article will help you to Repair Firefox Hangs.
Instructions
- Hold "Ctrl" and "Shift" on your computer's keyboard and click "Esc." The Task Manager opens up, displaying the active applications on your computer.
- Click the "Processes" tab and click "Process Name" to change the order of the list to alphabetical. A surprising number of processes are running, and it can be difficult to find Firefox if they're in a random order.
- Locate "Firefox.exe" on the list of process and click on it. Click "End Process" and click "OK" to verify that you want to continue. The Firefox window immediately closes.
- Launch Firefox once again to continue browsing the Internet.
