Windows 7 HomeGroup Setup
This is very helpful in sharing files and printers on a home network you can onnect two or more PCs running Windows 7.
Note: You can join a homegroup in any edition of Windows 7, but you can only create one in Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise.

HomeGroup feature in Windows 7 lets you create a home network with built-in and expandable sharing and access. Windows 7 lets you establish three types of networks—
- Home
- Work
- Public
How To Configure your Windows 7 machines network as Home?
- Open the Control Panel and choose Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center
- Verify that under the Network icon you show "Home network." If not, click the link Public network or Work network—and choose Home Network instead.
- Choose “Homegroup and Sharing Options.” under Network and Internet.
- The Homegroup window opens, click the button labelled, Create a Homegroup.
- Once the “Create a Homegroup” window opens, displaying the features you can share – Pictures, Documents, Music, Printers and Videos-(You need to check the boxes for those items you wish to share)
- Click the Next button. Now Windows 7 generates a password to allow other computer user(s) to join the Homegroup.
- Click Print password and instructions. You can share password information with other computer user(s) to share the data.
- Click the Finish button and Homegroup setup is done
